As a nurse, I know good healthcare when I see it.

But when I found myself as a patient, I was in a new territory.

I was scared when I started having chest pains and knew I needed to act fast. Little did I know how important my decision would be. 

Knowing no one treats hearts like Midwest Regional, I underwent a diagnostic cath at the hospital, where my doctors discovered I needed immediate double bypass surgery.

What I thought would be a routine procedure turned into a seven day stay … and a life saving journey.

This journey not only saved my life, but also reminded me of the difference that a caring staff can make when they go the extra mile. The nurses at Midwest Regional treated me – and my entire family – like one of their own.
